As important to Marshfield as its distinctive investment philosophy is its personal approach to client relationships. Co-founder Bill Stott has had his eye on the latter side of the business since the firm’s inception. Managing individual client relationships, providing personalized support, and developing new clients have been part of Bill’s portfolio since day one. 

An accomplished violinist who enjoys being part of a string quartet, Bill knows that when the individual members of a team work together, the result is a harmonious whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. As much as he values collaboration, Bill also knows the benefits of taking the time for a solo. When he’s not consulting with clients, you’re likely to find him running or open-water swimming in Georgian Bay, Ontario. 

Bill is also a committee member for the Roycroft Foundation for the Arts in East Aurora, New York.
